been looking at a light upgrade on ebay. im not entirely sure on what spectrum lights i need tho.

Would these be worth buying?

When you say a 'meltdown', what do you mean?? If the plastic casing has melted it may have leached chemicals into the water.

What are your DIY skills like - you can buy a kit like this http://www.aquastyleonline.com/products/Aquarium-14-LEDs--DIY-Dimmable-Kit.html for around $100 delivered which looks to have the same drivers, LED's etc. My guess is that the ebay seller is buying a kit like this, doing a bit of work to fit in to the RSM and adding on $100 for his efforts.

The ebay light is probably OK for your needs (although I have my doubts about the adequacy of the heat sink) albeit a bit expensive for what you get.

Havent added these yet of course but eventually will :) they're in another tank at the moment.

DIY skills are ok. I might just keep the stock lights for now. They seem to do the job just fine, they're just a bit hot.

How long have you had this one for??

2 days. its my father inlaws. I set my old tank up at his office because it was too big for our unit. got my cbs in there right now. this coral(not sure what it is) has tripled in size from when it was in the shop. looks really good in the tank

it was because of the pump melting down... all ok now tho. fixed and getting the new one on wednesday'

Ok... tank is almost cycled and Ive been thinking about the what sort of fish i want to get.
I was thinking:
2 x Ocellaris Clown Sml
1 x Yellowhead Jawfish or a few Firefish or both ??
1 x Mandarin Dragonet
1 x either coris wrasse or lunar wrasse
1 x dwarf yellow tang (?)
1 x coral banded shrimp
a few hermits and snails

any suggestions?

bought some more lr today and also a few snails. my 2 strombs got straight to work. busy little fellas!
