so after drinking some and loading pics to the wrong spot i figured id start a proper TJ as i have nothing better to do today:cool:


Reefing Since: mid 2008 with a FOWLR

System Objectives: to create something stable and nice to look at

Type of reef: mixed, LPS/INVERT dominated with a few sps frags soon

Display System:

Initial Fill Date: late 2010

Display Tank Dimensions: 2x2x2

Display Lighting: 120W BSLED 12cm above water surface

Stand: 1M high open pine with black cotton velcroed on for hiding/easy access

Hood or Rimless: not quite rimless atm pics will show

Sump Design: 24L x 13W x 20H about half full

Filtration: DSB with macro, 24" fbf with np biopellets , 36W UV filter

Support systems:

NSW or ASW: ASW

Display Water circulation: return pump and an MP10WES (app 40X turnover) lookiing at getting another mp10 as a slave and turning them both down a bit

Return Pump: eheim 3200LPH

Skimmer: NAC 7

Evaporation Top Up: auto with diy float valve

Chemical additions:

Calcium Addition: manual

Alkilinity Addition: manual

Magnesium Addition:manual

Prodibiotics Addition: none

Coral Food Addition: Kent chromammax 2 drops every 2 days

doing plans atm for a brace to hold my light so i can go rimless..... how high above the water should a 120W BSled be for a small clam on the bottom to thrive ?

Brace is coming along nicely it's all welded up just gotta grind back the welds etch prime and rustproof in jet black the ill be rimless ;) just hope the decoras decide not to surf !

Yeah the wife hates its when I get a bee in my bonnet cause it's usually a big thing Nd creates a huge messs but believe it or not everything was actually exactly where I needed it

a few new corals today plus 3 trochus (thanks malau;) ) palm tree coral, alien eye chalice,red fromia star and green stem purple tip hammer shit photos but im dog tired

unfortunately the chalice got damaged on the way home as you can see the bare spot on the skeleton...... hope it grows back over :(

I jus think it looks better when it full if I could I'd have it run right at the edge of the glass so it was seamless but water surface agitation doesn't allow for that

when you clean the glass that will be a pain and you will regret it :D also makes it easy to flood the tank onto the floor!
