Thanks Matt, looking back this is probably actually my favorite stage. There was a nice balance of colour, lps, sps and softies. DAMN you SPS bug!

So at this stage the tank would go from an alk of 9 in the morning to 6.5 in the evening, it was time to bring in dosing

Some quick work with the dremile cut off disc and polishing pad to knock the sides off.

ive never done it before and there are alot of reefers the i respect highly that have gone this way. its been about 6 months and it does aid in nutrient control but i think I will be going back to having substrate

im not a fan of the "sterile" look. my frag tank was bare bottom and i was always finding i had detritus build up quickly with no CUC to remove it.

This tank has been a big inspiration to me all along mate...during all of its stages! Now that I looked back at this tank, I realised you had gone through quite a few changes aswell!

agreed! i never realised how many coral swaps and shifts there were
whats next on the table? now you have mastered sps. nps? :D
