Id still get rid of the coral rubble in the sump mate , The amount of detritus that would break down in there would surprise you

Not really a huge difference between the two , But with the coral rubble sitting in the bottom of the sump , uneaten food etc will find its way there , Get under some of them and decay and build up , Its not a DSB ? but it still looks fairly deep , Give it a quick gravel vac and look at the water you get from it , You wouldn't vac if its a DSB tho

its about 1.5" deep and is really coarse rubble lots of shrimps and star fish (brittle) and other critters crabes etc craw through it if i vac wont i lose all this?
