Im back before I left!!
After a sudden and suprising influx of money,
I decided I may aswell have my new tank sooner than later!I will hopefully be able to leave this one alone for days at a time, which is what I need with work at the moment.

System Objectives: A mini version of an open space patch reef, with high side imitating a reef crest! Mainly LPS, some SPS on top

System Type: Mixed Reef

Strike up Date: TBA

Display Tank: 24x24x16 rimless, external overflow, black acrylic, by Dave at Extreme reef

Display Lighting: **possible Illumagic 45/60c

Stand: Custom built, white cladding by Dave at Extreme Reef

Hood: Hood?! pfftttt.... rimless

Sump: 2 section 2 footer standard. Skimmer, reactor, carbon, rowaphos.

System Water: Natural salt water

Display Water circulation: Vortech MP20, May upgrade to a 40 later on

Return Pump: Red Devil 3000, or Ehiem 2000

Skimmer: The hard bit. Probably RO Pro series/ skimz

Evaporation Top Up:Auto topup


Chemical Support: Kaomer Dosing Pump

Calcium Addition: Damprid

Alkilinity Addition: Bi Carb

Magnesium Addition: Epsom salts

Other Chemical Maintenance:Bio Pellets, Carbon.
Current Water Chemistry: If applicable

if you want full blown sps go 60cm unit. if you dont go with a 30cm unit and hang it.
the only reason i have a 60cm unit over my tank is because i allready had it. if it was buying one i would have bought a 30cm and hung it.
i dont run mine at full power :P

Update, skimmer is in. I ended up getting a NAC3.5. Perfectly sized.
All cAbles are in cable management and tidy, hmbing is finalized and glued.
Got my LEDS working, for 90w holy shit they're bright! They would be hung but me being OCD, I can see a bit of spolighting and decided to swap some LEDs around. Looks heaps better! I hate to admit it but MTG was right, the cyan are a very green version and I ended up only using two. Will be getting black acrylic for the top made up and a white piece with cutouts at the bottom, sort of an imitation illumagic!!

Sump. 300w heater, skimmer, filter sock and boipellets running all in one neat compartment.

Cable management still needs to e trimmed. Another power board to go in.
