Home & Hosed! Now The Fun Begins!
The tank is home and is in it's final place for a while to come. With help from the wonderful @Sam Parker, we were able to fit it into his reliable old Volvo XC90.
It was a squeeze but we eventually got it in the car with little to no hassles.
One hiccup though. Managed to cut myself whilst lifting the tank off the cabinet. Didn't realise till i saw blood on my fingers.
It was quite a clean cut. so stopped bleeding within a few minutes.
After leaving Deer park, we drove down to Bunnings to pick up a few things (stainer, plumbing tap, paint brush)
and then it was off home with tank in hand.
First step was to get the tank in the back yard without the dog running out to explore. We managed to get that done with minimal hassle. With plumbing tape applied to the appropriate areas, it was time to start staining and painting.
First coat applied. still looking quite raw. Time for the second coat.
Fake wall painted and screwed back into the cabinet. (Back cabinet also painted)
Second coat applied. Looking good.
With the craze of everyone posting photos of their new tanks with their kids in the tank, i thought i should do the same. But i don't have a kid. So i went with the next best thing, my dog, Simba.
After painting the back of the tank and waiting for everything to dry, it was time to move it inside.
maybe i should of waited a day or so to let everything air out. Whole house smelled like paint. Whoops.
Spent th erest of today fixing up the rest of the plumbing, putting the comboray light in the cabinet and putting the two circulation pumps in the display tank.
And to top things off, i got my Kamoer dosing pump off @aussieant32 via post today. It looks in perfect condition! Cheers once again!
This week ill be getting the return pump and the heaters for the tank.
Thats all for the update! Thanks for reading :D
