That really wasn't an uncommon thing with the Italian-American zombie/cannibal movies from the end of the 70s/early 80s. If I thought about it, I could think of 3 or 4 movies in my collection where that was believed to have happened (and thats just the ones I can vaguely recall). Don't like it that either, but at least that type of thing generally doesn't happen any more. When they were going for shock value, they usually went all out in those movies.
