There is another animal too that looks very similar, cant remember the name off hand other than it starts with an s :p to google some pics and away at the beach shack so no access to the reference books. When i get back will get something. Best way to tell is to see what it looks like closed, or better yet pull out a rock and investigate. I still thing your pic looks more like the holuthrian and if you google hells fire anemone most pics are of the Actinodendron family and live in the sand.
The nem should go down into the rock and disappear.
Close inspection you should be able to see a small Cuc for the holuthrian,
The other thing starting with s looks like it lives in a scrotum :p

Do you mean sea apple? @Oceanarium At night the tentacles should be out and it will be catching microorganisms then the tentacles will retract to feed the mouth if it is a sea apple/holuthrian @holly
When I found it at the bottom of the box it was inside a fleshy scrotum sac thing, and then expanded out slowly like an anemone. The one on the rock didn't exist to my eyes until the morning after the rock went into the tank... I haven't had a chance to peek after lights out but will tonight and get a pic :D Someone can poke it today for shits perhaps... if i ply them with enough beer.

yeah...but he wouldn't fit down the aisles...
and I know because i once spent 36 hours on a China Air flight and observed that A) the air hostesses were all that thin, you could've snapped one if you sneezed on her, B) that they probably had a minimum hip diameter measurement in the job application forms and C) that by employing that minimum measurement, they were probably able to fit in an extra row of seats across-ways.
