I tossed the dead hammer today (that's not code for anything) - managed to save 1 head which is looking quite good, but the dead part that I tossed was absolutely rank.

Must be contagious - I awoke to this horror this morning:

HammerRTN.jpg

I did a largish water change on Sunday and the bristle worms went orgasmic so there must have been a substantial enough change in params. I haven't been able to check the params, but at last count they were OK. I have been running salinity low (~1.020) in order to best fish health. I am running high-ish nitrates and phos which I am trying to get under control. My other hammers seem OK , but I have had major issues with a Duncan and a Torch went RTN as well. kH and Calc are OK. Hoping I can pull it back....

After leaving my tank unmaintained for whole 7 days, my 2 hammers have also lost 1 - 2 of their heads.

Elegance also receding .. Gonis also receding ...

The only corals that still striving are my Ricordea & Zoas.

I'm planning to do double WC this week and see how it goes.

Maybe it is contagious.

My hammer came back to life later the same day. Must have been a ph shock I guess, but I had never seen my hammers recede so much!
