after lunch. I am not home during the day so I try and maximise the amount of daylight when I am home otherwise I would never see my tank

Do you two find that your corals close up even slightly at night, despite the lights being on?

Not really but I do find that I never have all my corals happy at the same time, something is always looking cracking and then something is always looking sulky. I have two of the same corals and when one is out the other is all shrivelled up. I am yet to figure this one out...

mine run 12-9, moonlight 9-11. Same reason, not home during the day to enjoy it. btw, what's your growth rates on xenia? Mine has spread and is growing way faster than other corals but I would hardly call it a weed.

Mine basically doubles each month and I like to keep it at about 5 fist sized clumps, which means I have to prune about every 6 weeks even when my readings are supposedly uln

.02 to 0 phos on Hanna, somewhere under 1ppm nitrate on elos.

Alk7 cal 450 mg around 1200 sg around 1.024

Been meaning to test organics but still haven't got around to it

Similar to mine, my trates are a little higher (2.5), as is my sg (1.026). Wonder what would explain growth rates? Probably light and flow variations I guess. Although in saying that, maybe I'm underestimating the amount it's grown haha...

Organics will be an interesting test, will be interesting to see what people start thinking these 'organics' results mean :p

IME Xenia growth rates depended less on N+P and more on how heavy I was feeding the corals and mostly */me gets ready to be flamed* certain spectrum lighting

I think the organics will be the main difference in growth rates, I couldn't see why spectrum wouldn't come into it either?
