ya i believe it is. ive not really had much of a cycle small ammonia spike never got any real nitrites and nitrate levels have fluctuated from 10-20 ppm

they have seemed to be surviving. hopefully if they make it for another couple of weeks ill have the tank moved to its next 6 month location and have a chiller and have things set up much better than i can start focusing on getting all peramerters and condition properly set up for them to start growing better.

they have been reguarly recessing and comming back out and seem to be holding some colour but my conditions like flow / temps/ lighting have been all over the place so fingers crossed.

There are 2 types the center ones the closest ive found by looking is zoas but I'm not sure as the not quite the same the other ones could be mushroom corals I think I got white ones and the dirty brown green ones. And they seem to be growing and multiplying which i guess is a good sign.

Off to the beach tomorrow to get some nsw stocks up for me first few water changes and I pick up my potential sump. Might play around the rock pools and see what I can find and get some live feeder fish for me bullrout who seems to be settling in just fine.

Water is very clean got a little yellow moldy liking stuff growing all over the silicon. No where else just on the silicon.

Pipe Fan wormy things are all coming out and apistasia are flourishing. Probally gonna have to apistasia x them.

This hobby is truly fascinating.

the dirty brown "coral" that looks sort of like a zoa but different... I think it is a majano anemone or something similar. Some people say these are a pest as they can spread like a weed given suitable conditions!

Ok so went to beach today up at sunny coast. Played around the rock pools with a small net and picked up a few wonderful goodies from hermit crabs to turbos. Got a bunch of macro algae sea weed stuff I got in a separate bucket till I get an id. got a couple of fish not sure what they are but seem quite happy and the coolest catch over 100 ghost shrimp. My bullrout has never eaten so good.

Pick up sump tomorrow.

Still no apistasia solution as of yet.

Things seem to be moving along well. Should have a chiller by next week and a protien skimmer that I'm happy with.
Thinking of getting a copper band butterfly fish to deal with apistaia as I think cherry shrimp may get eaten by bull rout.

Update ...

While doing my regular syringe with vinegar aiptasia control time or SWVAC for short I noticed a reduction in small aiptasia that only yesterday I thought was getting out of control. Wondering where all the small aiptasia had gone, I with great joy saw my little stripey rip a small aiptasia of a rock and munch it down.

As it would have it there seems to be another fish on the aiptasia control list.
I've heard stripeys are zealous eaters and I guess I've not been feeding it to it's satisfaction and has taken matters into it's own hands to the betterment of the tank.

So in a tag team effort me with my SWVAC dealing with the big ones and my cohort stripey dealing with the little ones I may have an answer to the aiptasia delema.

Cheers and sorry for all the poor quality images. Hope this makes things easier.

General update

This is blenny the blenny. Not sure if there is enough food in tank as algae other than yellow on silicon is growing. Will he eat algae wafers?

Update .

Picked up a couple of frags today and a green zoa well see how they go. I mainly got them to see how they fair in my water conditions.
ai1107.photobucket.com_albums_h387_Rivertribe_IMG_1597.jpg

Stripey has cleaned up all but the biggest aiptasia which I got the last 2 this morn. And I can't find 1 aiptasia in the tank. Remarkable.
Blenny is doing well seems to be eating some algae disks I threw in.

Planing to get rid of top sump and stock lighting and replace with my octopus horizon light that I got there waiting just need a new arctic tube.

My dual wave maker is way to strong I've realized and will replace it with a smaller 3000ltr.

Have a friend selling some peppermint shrimps and a pair of saddleback clowns which will be going in next week.

I hope my bullrount dosent eat the shrimp and they may end up in the sump.as I don't really need em for aiptasia control anymore.

Will be putting in black substrate soon with my coral sculpture and set up the aquascape in it's final stage of setup and finally things can start taking on a more appealing aesthetic.
