bugger camillo, thats a shame but is definately known to happen. I had a decent sized pleco in one of my freshwater setups that did that, I found it and he was still breathing, he hung in for a few hours sitting over a air bubbler then passed. was around 8-10 inch long so even some big fish can be hard to see when this happens.
