It's been a while since I built my current computer - the one thing I would say is buy a suitable MB now rather than look to upgrade in the future. This will be a relatively cheap item in the overall scheme of things and it will be a PITA to change it over in the future.

BTW, I thought you were going to stop spending money on toys :p

Don't bother with the 12GB of RAM, you will not need it. Also make sure you check the specs of your windows install. As an example (mind you it has been a long time since I have used windows), home edition will see up to 4gb of ram, but will only be able to use 3gb, meaning you lost 1gb for nothing. Things may have changed since then, I don't know.

64bit versions can get past that memory restriction :)

Should throw in a solid state drive too, helps reduce your start up times, and you can run programs throught this as well
My PC specs are:
Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz 4MB cache
16GB DDR3 1333MHz Mem
2TB SATA 3GB/s HDD
90GB Solid State
nVidia GeForce GTS450 - 2GB PCI-E Graphics
and with media card reader, 1x HDMI out, running Windows 7 HP 64 Bit

Works great on PC games for me :)

This has me contemplating a new pc build now. After the tank I think. I need a 64bit pc to run After Effects etc. Currently using CS4 and this comp lags out.
