GFO, do I run that in a canister with pump running water through it?

The tank is 17 months old and it has 30kg of liverock in it

just tested my phosphates again and its only showing 0.01

Just an update guys,

I got my water tested at the LFS and levels all good.

However, it looks like my TDS meter is faulty and my RO unit has been spitting out water with 130ppm TDS. I'm guessing this could be the issue?

I'd say so bud, must be a relief to know what it is!

Very much so! I have some new RO cartridges and a new inline TDS sensor and its reading 166ppm to 3ppm as its bedding in. Hope to get to 0ppm in the next couple of hours

I may have just found another cause. About 6 months ago I screwed a piece of poly while silicon dried and I forgot to pull the screw out. Yesterday I noticed it was rusty and I'm guessing polluting the tank with all sorts of heavy metals in the process.

Would this be another source of this pain in the ass algae?

Algae does love iron. Another possibility is that your lawn mower blenny is defective. Why so skinny?

Yeah I'm thinking that. I haven't seen my new one for a while anyway ha ha
