Whelk?
I found this snail cruising around in the tank yesterday and thought it was a nassarius so left it alone. Now I think it might be a whelk. Should I kill it or stick it in the sump?

I would get rid of it they can lay very viable eggs. They fertilize internally, so the risk is there.

The small babies could easily travel back to the display through the return pump.

I had a tiny whelk in my tank for a little while, not knowing what it was left it in there only to see my stomatella snails slowly disappear, found the whelk tucking in to the last one!
