What's on my scolly?
Just wondering if anyone knows what it is on the side of my scolly? (the red thing)
Possibly one for dr_schell

When it's fully expanded, it covers it, but it tends to be hitched up a little bit over where that is, and the rest of it's body spreads out as normal. I just happened it catch it before it before the lights went on this morning.
I haven't noticed anything else unusual, just that it tends to hitch up a bit over where this thing is.

is a tunicate (sea squirt). You can clearly see the 2 valves (one inlet and one outlet). They are filter-feeders that will not harm you other aquarium inhabitants.

Cool, OK then. Thank you muchly :)
As long as it's not hurting anything :D
Does seem to annoy the scolly when it expands, but that's about it.

the sea-squirt will expand and contract, depending on if it feels threatened, feeding, etc. As far as I am aware, they do not secrete toxins etc. The Scolly may just be reacting to the physical contact of the expanded sea-squirt. If any thing, the sea-squirt will help to filter your water
