Upside-Down Jellyfish (Cassiopea andromeda)

Has anyone kept these? I'm interested in getting one but would love to hear from anyonw with even anecdotal info on these.

Yes,

They use light like a coral with symbiotic algae. Will spend most the time upside down on the bottom, get up every now and again for a swim.

You can give them some extra food in a zooplankton substitute.

They need to be protected from pumps and overflows etc. Smooth sand and no rocks is a good idea

Not much else to say about them pretty easy to keep provided the above.

No way they would just get blown around and bash into everything. They don't swim strong enough to fight any currents.

Glad Pete chimed in, I can echo his advice. There are fields of them down in the Florida Keys, groups of thousands of them. They would be OK in a strongly lit refugium, but not a good addition to a display tank and they have a short lifespan as well.
