Can the de-mineralised water sold for use in irons be used safely for tank top-ups?

If you are going to be in the hobby for any length of time buy a RO unit - there are some that pop up cheap 2nd hand or new units go for $200ish. The return on investment and the convenience of having the ability to make and store RO on hand can be a life saver (at least for the fish and corals).

This is good advice, but -- is the iron water OK for small topups? I can't think of any reason it shouldn't be, and I have some.

I think thats only DI (De-ironised) - I don't think it has gone through Reverse Osmosis (which is the more important process).
