I'm a horror freak despite 2 out the top 3 not being horror. I know the number as I ripped all of my DVDs to hard disk, then I put them in a spreadsheet so I actually know what I have.

Dunno about the Saw movies. They started to blend into one big long repeat for me. I've got the last 2 on my list to watch, but just haven't got there yet. First one was good as it pushed some boundaries (as did Hostel). The sequels... hmmm.. at least they have a story flowing through them I guess.
The resident evils I like. Also like the Underworld movies. I'm even partial to the Bloodrayne movies (though my overall tolerance to Uwe Boll's atrocities are limited).

forgot about hostel too!

I found the saw series to be awesome, I must say I was a little disapointed in a couple of the middle ones I think if I remember correctly it was 4 and 5. the last one is great! it really raps things right up and really completes the story of the lot. it goes right back to the first one ;) I dont want to say to much though as it might ruin things for those who havent seen it.

I would really love to see a blade 4. I doubt it will happen though. they left the last resident evil open again for another one.

I hated Hostel. It was the most boring movie for me. Saw was good, and then it became pointless. A good movie to see for horror fans would be Dead Silence. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455760/
Heh.. saw Dead Silence a few years ago. Don't remember it that well, but I don't recall hating it, so that's a good sign.

I've seen a lot of ultra-low budget indie type horror made over the last 10 years. Most of them shows signs of film makers who learned nothing from the tried and true 1980s horror formula - if you lack any form of sensible story or plot, you must compensate with gratuitous nudity, gore and screaming. Occasionally I come across a good one.

True. I think budget horror movies died out in the 80's. Look at Return of The Living Dead. I still think it is the best Zombie movie ever made. Bad acting, bad story, bad special effects. Perfect horror. But then again, it did not try to be a good film, just an entertaining one.

Hahah true. I have return of the living dead 3 floating around somewhere.. so they did the "return"s to death. I forgot to put Night of the Living Dead on my list. Pretty tame by today's standards, but it was the zombie flick that started them all. We then got a billion zombie movies after it - more Romero, the stack of semi-comedic rip offs (like the Return movies), and the stacks of Italian/American zombie movies from the end of the 70s/early 80s. There were totally rubbish movies like Burial Grounds - The nights of terror that was bad, and yet all too disturbing right up to Erotic Nights of the Living Dead which was both a typical low budget zombie flick and pornographic all rolled into one.
