Howdy friends,

The time has come after 5 years. We are moving (to New Zealand!!!) in October-ish. We have very little time to get ourselves ready and out of here. His is all happening super fast. I need to sell off my fish, corals and equipment ASAP. At this point, I would be happy to field offers for things. I just need people to promise to love and care for my living creatures. I have been having nightmares about shutting the system down because of the attachment that I have to my fish particularly... but without you guys here on the forum I wouldn’t have any of this. @Bataviacoralfarm sent me the most beautiful fuschia-with-green-polyps Pocci and I have 2 parent colonies, 6 frags on plugs etc and it is starting to reproduce around the tank, popping up on my rocks.

I will put some pics up and when I can I’ll throw up a list of bits and pieces. If you know people needing things, please let them know. I live on the Central Coast of NSW, a suburb called Kariong which is 2 minutes off the M1 Freeway.

Sad to see you shutting down :(
It is breaking my heart. I never ever expected to shut it down or even move!! We had been planning to renovate our house and had the builder trying to work around the running aquarium. I am really hoping that I might be able to have a small aquarium in NZ. We need to get set up and see what the industry is like there. I have heard it is small, so it may not be straightforward.. living in Wellington will present its own unique set of issues as far as earthquakes go, just another thing to consider!!! The upside of it all is that we will have a much cooler climate that I and any aquarium might be better able to cope with!! We will have more money too, and my husband has already made it clear that he supports me keeping a system in the future (if it’s available). Who knows? Maybe I can create the industry if it isn’t there yet?!

This chapter may be over, but thanks to you, and everyone HERE... I am stronger and more able to move forward and start the next chapter of our lives. My back is so much better, and it enables me to cope with my other medical dramas. I have already been running around organizing real estate, international freight, landscaping, electricians, fixes for the house to get it to a better condition to sell it, trying to find families for our pets, doing endless laundry, cleaning the house... and first aiding a random person having an asthma attack at the shops while dealing with my daughter having sprained her ankle, picking up a little birthday treat for my hubby and lodging an urgent passport application!!! A few years ago, I could never have done this much all at once. I haven’t had heaps of time to adjust to losing my aquarium. I have been having nightmares actually. The fellow, Bo, who bought my Naso, Wrasse and one of my Batavia Pocci colonies is already seeing wonderful results after adding the Naso to his tank. So very much stress was alleviated in the moments after he confirmed she was adjusting well.

Onward and upward!

Hey there friendly reefers! Just to let you know that I honestly need the tank and its contents out of this house as soon as possible. I will happily take offers. GO NUTS!!! We need to get all of the stuff out of our house as fast as possible because we have half the usual amount of time to ship our things to New Zealand. We have bits and pieces to fix up before the house can be put on the market BUT that can't happen until the tank goes!!! It's a desperate and urgent issue. At this point, if you want it, give me a token payment and take the flipping thing away PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! We have NO time.

I am also reaching exhaustion point... it doesn't take much. I am spending every minute running around trying to organise all the right people to get us there while my husband tries to download 18 years of his career into comprehensive documentation of his role for his successor... and he manages the kiwi end of the plans. I literally can't get the house on the market while this system is sitting in our living room, and I can't get rid of certain items while there is still coral or fish in it!!! o_0
