So this morning we work up to find a small red patch on our clown fish… it is just in front of her fin.



I have circled it in the photo attached.

What do you think it is?

Does the gill cover look like it is flared out?

I will check when I get home to see if it is. If it is what would that mean?

I am trying to work out if the red bit is part of the gill or if it something else :confused:

This is probably stupid knowing how you keep your tank, but couldn't be ammonia burn could it ? I highly doubt it. probably got stung by a coral or some thing that she went to close too.

I had a look last night, the gill area doesn't appear to be inflamed or swollen...

But she ate a fair bit last night and is behaving like herself...

So hopefully it'll heal and she'll be fine! :)

Put it this way, nothing you can do.

Wait and see, chasing her will only stress her and if she is sick more likely kill her.

Swimming, eating then leave them alone.
