The information is inaccurate, I know of at least 3 more floating around recently :) they're not protected Matt, just incredibly restricted in their range and incredibly deepwater. That particular specimen came from 360 feet quite a ways off of Rarotonga as I recall. If you want one, pony up $25k+, get chummy with the right people as the waiting list for them is stupidly long, and then run a dedicated, dimly lit tank at about 15-17ºC with no foot traffic and no other tankmates.

Its gettin the money thats not easy... well at least for me! Besides, $25K would go a long way to buying a house for my family... not a pet to put in said house!
