No Sump Update For A Fair Whele
Updates on the reef tank have taken a hit, I had planned on changing my sump to something fairly radical and also take the opportunity to replace most of the equipment to some top of the line royal exclusive gear.

BUT

My gorgeous little miniature dachshund had to go and hurt her back again. She did this 2 years ago but got away with 8 weeks crate rest then, this time it was major surgery. Due the the car sized vet bill, I've had to sell of the equipment I had slowly been acquiring for the sump switch over (and a few other spares I had laying around). Not the end of the world, the tank is rolling along well and probably will benefit by being left alone. Unfortunately it is looking like the surgery will not save the use of my dogs back legs as she is still paralysed four days following the operation, but she is happy and pain free. Now to get to work on building her a sweet little wheelchair so she can get mobile again once she returns home.

Here is the little sweet heart when we visited her

Poor girl! :( I am glad that she doesn't have any pain though. If she does need a little wheel chair, I can only imagine what you will come up with!!!
I also could have bought a small car for the vet bills I have had over the last 2 years, but the money doesn't really matter to make the fur kids better... even though its not kind on the wallet!

Aww sorry to hear and see that mate. We have a beautiful Black and Tan miniature dachshund as well and I can almost feel how devastated you must be. She's gorgeous! Good to see she's pain free. How old is she?
As Buddy said I'm sure you'll come up with something amazing for her!

Thanks mate! Glad to say she is home now and is showing some small signs of recovery. She has regained bladder control which is bloody awesome and can even hold a stand if you pop her legs into the right position (it shows that she can "activate" her muscles to hold the standing position). Lots of crate rest and physio and hopefully she will get some more reocvery of her legs.

She is 4 years old, had a minor version of this happen when she was 2 that we got away without surgery. So here's hoping we get more than another 2 years from her!

Kool all good signs there it seems, hopefully she continues to improve.
Haven't got a link but I remember while researching a while ago there are jackets/coats/vests that are meant to support their backs and help stop the movement that damages their backs. Might be a waste of time or might really help.
Our guy is just over a year old now and it feels like a full time job trying to stop him from always jumping!
