Newbie Trying To Figure Out Pests!
Could anyone tell me what is on my elegance coral?
Sorry for the quality of the pic but quickly noticed it and took a pic with my phone.
I have also noticed this on 1 of the snails but much smaller. Is this aiptasia?

Hard to tell from those pics..... fan worm?
Charging the camera so I can take another shot.
It is a pale pink colour and the top of it looks to have many bristles on it which seem to retract now and again. The snail also has 2 of these although they seem to only be the heads, no body.

Bristleworm?

I thought it may have been a variety of feather duster worm.... but probably not from your description.

Aiptasia generally looks like this:

A: Sponge
B: Pineapple Sponge
C: Crown of a fan worm?
D: Tube of the fan worm in C

It's hard to ID what C is, but given there are lots of sponges in the photo, it's probably another filter feeder rather than photosynthetic.

Feather dusters are good to have, my Copperband and Kleini butterflys LOVE them to death, literally, lol.
I'm at ease with them in there since being told what they were.

I absolutely love Copperbands but have been told they are very difficult to keep and not reefsafe.

Never had an issue with a Copperband or Kleini in a reef tank nor an Emporer, Regal or 6 Bar angel, now those little bastard Centropyges make me wanna set kittens on fire in a reef tank. Copperbands need to be able to graze throughout the day, they love feather dusters.
