New Torch Coral Mouth Gaping
I got a new torch coral today!

Man HE IS ANGRY.

It's 4 mouths are GAPING open. I put it in the tank... The mouth was shut. Then it opened a bit. And then shut a bit and now it is OPEN A LOT.

what's going on?

Oh and his polpys are defalted... It was completely fine in the LFS... But now it's like this.... Every other coral in the tank is fine!

Looks ok to me !!! Give him time to a acclimate. All corals take a little while to adjust I wouldn't worry :)

Osmotic stress, they will increase their surface area as much as they can to reach an equilibrium. Always check the salinity of where the animal is coming from against your tank's. Mushrooms, LPS and anemones will do this, SPS will slime like nobody's business. Y'all would have a heart attack if you saw how much they can stretch to do this after they've just come in, lol. Wall hammers will stretch out 3-4cm when they're pissed about a big difference in salinity.
