New Tank Brown Stuff
sorry to keep posting stuff. I'll keep it short. Got a 7 day old new tank cycling only thing in tank is live rock. Just suddenly got this brown stuff on everything, any ideas what it is?

There are many "cures" out there for diatoms, please don't use any of them :) Let the tank do it's thing and they'll go away by themselves. It's part of the process so you've got nothing to worry about, you do have some ugly coming your way though over the coming weeks. Diatoms is one of them, you'll probably get some tasty hair algae too. Don't freak out about them, just let the tank continue on it's merry way and things will right themselves :) "Problem solving magics" tend to cause more problems for a tank in the long run if you do it in the early stages :)

I got a bit irritated by my diatomic bloom and did some vacuuming. However, in less than five days the diatomic bloom had fully recovered and spread where ever the substrate caught light.

Best to just leave it.
