My first nano aio
Hey guys
This is my first crack at marine so here goes nothing.
I'm still learning everyday and I'm open to any suggestions or
Criticisms you have.
The gear:
Ok so I know it's cheap but when ur on a budget you do what you can
46 litre aio boyu tank
Boyu wg308 skimmer
Boyu heater
Boyu return pump 280 lph
One power compact and no fans
Cost me $120 on eBay late one night
The mods:
Tunze 800lph pump $27 online
Boyu wg310 which doesn't fit!! So I used the pump
As its a straight swap to wg308
I have added an extra power compact $80
I have added two 12vdc fans
Also 2x 10 w super actinic LEDs $20
The set up:
I used carbisea argaalive hawian black as my substrate
I wanted black for something different $60
About 5.5kgs of live rock (Xmas type) $100
(a bunch of smaller pieces in the back compartment
Hitchhickers:
Ok so ha some bad some good.
Bad: one of those hairy crabs lol can't remember the name
Ruby mIthrax crab he is only tiny so gonna leave him there till he gets bigger
Undecided due to my inexperience
Starfish is maroon with white
I have I think bristle worms in the substrate
Kinda look like centapeids lol
Good: one big coral frag I will try get picture of it
Lots of coraline
Lots of sponges and a few pieces of coral which I have no Clue on
They are that small it is hard to photograph an only have my iPhone
As I said before any help would be great.
I originally used nsw to set up the tank but was not sure if
This was the right thing to do so did a big water change after a week with
Sw from the fish shop
Cuc
So far in the tank I have two small turbos
Three black legged hermits
Periwinkle
Deceased
White legged hermit- this was not the tank he was too stressed
From the moment I put him in he did nothing and fell apart two days later
Not very happy bout that I think the other hermits bullied him even tho
He was the biggest cause one of the blacks took his shell
And it was down hill from there.
My lfs is a nice guy but his prices are high so I am sourcing some new members
To my cuc at present
Anyone want to offer there two cents on what I should have
Future:
So I got this tank for my Lil girl she is three as we cannot have pets in my building
(had nothing to do with the fact I love this stuff)
I was thinking two clowns and some hardy corals or maybe even an anemone bubble tip maybe
I know lots of people will have a cry about this but if it gets too big I can always sell it n start again right
