Man down!
Injured my back at work today. I have to say, this is not fun. It starts at my lower back and runs all along my left leg until my knee. All because some stupid contractors could not drill holes in the correct places.

Damn it!

Back injuries have a tendency of coming back to haunt you forever, so make sure you fill in all of the incident & workcover paper work to make sure you get looked after.

I had a back injury in high school - it still haunts me occasionally, and has been prone to causing me to wind up spending a fortune at chiropractors every time both disks start getting out of whack again. It gets damn expensive missing time off work and seeing specialists to fix these problems, and that's before you get to the actual physical pain.

Don't get lazy over the paperwork. I'm yet to meet a person who's had a back injury from work that is ever "fixed". It might stop hurting for a few years, and one day you'll bend the wrong way, and you'll flare it up again.

I'm with David Sexton! make sure it's all covered and recorded at work! I know so many guys with bad backs in my industry that still have flare up problems now and then. It will haunt you when you least expect it.Hope it feels better soon bloke.

On a lighter note, I've been in touch with a Hanson, they are sending round an agitator full of concrete so you can harden the ph$%k up princess.

I dont work on the tools anymore (im a plumber) due to a back injury 2 years ago. Im only 27 and will never be able to do heavy manual labour, I can do some lifting but not more than 10kg really, and nothing repetitive or my back will flare up and I struggle to walk its so painful.

I wouldnt wish a back injury on anyone as they are life changing and generally not change for the better. Make sure you get it looked after and always remember to look after your back.

look after yourself
