We're looking for a break .. a stress release and wanted to find a resort, which we can just relax ... probably like Hamilton Island or Bali.

Don't intend to break the bank too, so no Maldives.

Am thinking of New Caledonia ... anyone been there? like it or hate it?

Will be travelling with 1 year old and wifey.

We have been to Vanuatu, twice - and would go back again. Probably not as commercialised as New Caledonia - it just depends what you are looking for...

Flights from Sydney + 4 nights accommodation in Kuta is around 700AUD.

Just the plane ticket from here is almost $3000. :(

I have a few friends there, 2 of which I've met in person, 1 is my main fish and coral supplier out of Indonesia. I think Gary would love it if I showed up and stayed for a week or 3, lol. He came here 10 years ago and I put him up for 2 weeks, he loved the quiet of the farm and the food.
