I should have studied Chemistry in High School
Alright, I was wanting to add this Red Sea calcium supplement powder to raise Ca from 400ppm to 440 ppm. I've calculated so I need around 80g of powder, 4 scoops...

OK, so I get a small take away box and got some tank water in it. and put 80g of powder in there. Then I stick my finger in there just to stir it up.... holly F*** this heats up to like at least 70 degrees.. My take away box is starting to turn soft..... I quickly dump it into the sump and everything is ok now....

After this, I've added some powder to raise Alkalinity. As the instruction says, mix powder with water and add it in the sump. WTF! Those powder has turned marsh mellows. I need to put my hand in the sump and keep stiring and it is very hard to break down. Fine I have put a al cheapo wave maker in there to break it all down.... After that I carefully read the instruction and it tells me to mix it with RO water.

Does that makes the difference when disolving stuff?

Enough venting. :-)

Cheers
