help asap blue tang with some white spots on him
we got a blue tank a week ago he has been eating with no prob just noticed tonight he has some white dots on him looking on the net it may be a ich maybe how quick do i need to put him in qt tank or how do i no what it is and how to treat help please asap cheers shaun

Blue tangs are fairly susceptible to white spot so you probably have the diagnosis correct - a picture would help.

I just had a look at your TJ - not going to help with your current problem but are you sure that the tank has fully cycled as any ammonia or nitrite will stress any fish which can lead to disease outbreaks.

Do you have any other fish in the display tank? If you can see the whitespot then it is already in your tank and any other fish would already be infected - some are more immune to it than others and can build up a greater immunity over time.

You mention a QT - was the fish quarantined before going into the display tank?

Please provide some answers but I suspect the best option at this stage is to leave it where it is.
