DIY Stand Cladding
hey guys just wondering if anyone knew any thing
about covering a stnad in cladding to make it look AWESOME
ive seen of DIY projects that have cladding in both antique and
modern looking ways im thinking to go the antique way as it suits
my parents house...hahah dont tell them that lol
is ther like a pack of pine i get buy from bunnings that comes
with ready made pine planks already with groves and stuff .
.i dont own a router ahah
suggestions welcomed :)
Heres what im working with the stand is quite tall so that i
( 6foot +) can look directly into the tank at eye level
thanks

It sounds like you are not going to make the cladding yourself, nor will you be able to buy a kit from a hardware store - the sizes customers required would be infinitely variable.

I would suggest you contact a kitchen manufacturer who might be able to supply the doors you require.

Some people i have seen use MDF.... i have used it before not
aquarium related but when it gets when its very puffy ahah
i would not mind using it and painting black that way its smoother then using ply ahah
is there a sealant that i can put on the MDF so that it will be Water resistant?
i think there is one they use it boats?
thanks

you can get a hmr mdf board which will have less chance of swelling mdf is easy to work maybe get a cabinet maker to cut it out for u most have some left over laying around there factor lol and a carton goes along way with some of them if u use coloured board u only need to seal edge before u paint it

I would use MDF either hmr (i didn't think you could get hmr mdf only hmr ply, but ive been wrong before) or normal as long as you use a water proof paint/sealant you shouldnt have any problems with swelling, and its much easier to make it look good rather than using ply.

Good luck and post some pics of the progress.
