Crisopa Rather White (read Bleached)
help my crispa is bleached had a problem with my phos which is now sorted reading .01 ph running 8.2 to 8.4 depending on time of day, nitrates .05ppm salinity 1.024 temp 26\27 deg he is eating well every 2 days half a prawn but is pure white now any ideas running Diy led lights 36 white 24 blue/royal blue on a 4x2x2 at a loss???????

How fast did you drop the phosphate? I had a problem with bleaching when dropping it too fast. Bleaching can also be caused by alkalinity swings.

Here's what is happening. You knocked out the majority of the phosphates. The algae lost a vital part of their photosynthetic algae food and died. Make sure you feed it about every 3 days until the algae grows back, yes it will grow back. One other thing that bears note here is to make sure that tank doesn't get to warm. I know it's coming into summer down there so keep the tank cool if possible.
