Cleaning Filtre Media
A word of caution about cleaning filtre floss or pads, wear gloves when you do it. I'm typing this and my hands are itching like mad from bristleworm spines. If you do wash them out, wear gloves. Lesson learned, lol. I decided to move the rock out of the fish room to the basement and I washed out the media from the filtre and now my hands are itching and burning.

I do it all the time and do you think I would put gloves on next time.....nup! It's like Bart Simpson touching the electric fence, 'ouch' he does it again 'ouch' then repeat several times.

Just don't pee on the electric fence, I used to get friends to do that, lol. As a farmer with an electric fence, I can't tell you how many people get zapped every year trying to "pet" my bison.

As for gloves, they'll be worn when I do the rock tank filtre media from now on. I used ammonia to make them come out, I still have 2 in there.
