Allelopathy, Coral chemical warfare
Space on the reef is limited, for coral to survive they compete against eachother for this space. Some send out stingers to poison competition. Some produce chemical poison, that affect others . In our reef systems we should be aware of compatibility of species.
What I found is that even zoas poison eachother, small polyp zoas should be kept separate to larger polyp zoas, preferably one type on a separate rock even. However zoas are compatible with clams and SPS.
Lets try compile a compatibility list, and a list of those coral that win over others when it comes to chemical warfare....
